So being a "collector" of clubs is not an easy thing. Sure having connections to JDM equipment is nice however, it brings a dilemma, which clubs end up in the bag?? So I decided to take some pictures of what's in my bag back in early January. A harsh winter had finally arrived and I figured it'd be a safe bet, that the clubs in my bag would stay with me till the start of the season.
I finally found the driver of my dreams in an Endo Epon Technity 460ZR shafted with an awesome Mamiya Op Axiv 6060L at 44.5". The Endo forged driver is the best feeling driver I've hit this year which includes at least 10 different drivers. The feeling at impact is hard to describe, it's soft and absorbing but the ball shoots off the hot face like no other driver I've used. The shaft is almost perfect too, a great kick and perfect flex for me. The one thing I might have changed could have been using a mid-kick version instead of the low-kick as the Epon head already has high trajectory. I'm hoping to try a Roddio Pentracross shaft in the next few weeks to compare.
After the driver, a G-Field FW 4 Wood at 16* handles my duties on the fairway. I find the 4 wood easier to hit than my previous Tourstage X-ST 3 Wood. While it loses slightly in distance, it gains big time in forgiveness and accuracy. It's shafted up with a sold Diamana Red Ion Flowerband at 42".
Now as it turns out a month and a half later, only the driver and 4 Wood will remain! A Tourstage UT 20* and G-Field UT 24* Utility will now be replaced by Fourteen Golf's UT-106 in 21* and 24*. My previously mentioned G-Field 4 Wood will be adjusted to 15* to make room for an Endo Epon Technity 5 Wood at 18*.
Tourstage Z-101 Irons with Nippon NS.Pro 850GH's will be replaced by Endo Epon Technity Type-S irons with Mamiya Op Axiv 758M shafts. It will be the first time I have graphite in my irons. The Fourteen Golf MT-28 V2 wedges have both been replaced by Epon Type X Limited NiCR Wedges in 52* and 58* loft. And finally the G-Field Premium Zone #1 has temporarily been displaced by a handmade Gold's Factory M402 Prototype putter at 33"!
Here are some pics of the new items that arrived a couple of weeks ago. I liked the Tourstage X-UT with Graffalloy Comp NT Prototype shaft but at 17* loft, there's no space for it in the bag... stay tuned in the coming weeks to see if the bag changes... yet again!
