When it comes to golf, many say, if you have no short game, you have no game at all. With the excitement of a long drive with woods, the satisfaction of sinking a shot with your putter, the wedge can sometimes be the forgotten club.
There are many brands of wedges out there that come in all types of design and grinds. Golf Waggle printed some interesting info on the choice of lofts when it came to choosing AW and SW for the bag.
While a large number of pros in Japan go for standard 52* and 58* lofted wedges, like Ai Miyazato, Tadahiro Takayama, Y.E. Yang, Keiichiro Fukabori, and Shinobu Moromizato, it's interesting to take a look at the different lofts that the pros bag. The table below shows the averages on tour and the lofts of several pros on tour in Japan and the USA.
It was also noted that several pros, like Phil Mickelson, Julie Inkster, Morgan Pressel and others carry 3 wedges in their bag in addition to the PW.
